June is Peer Review Month Here at NWPT!
On floor Peer Reviews should be included in your yearly marketing plan. Remember, your clients expect the very best from you and your team. Spending time reviewing each of your personal trainers (rookies and experienced trainers) helps the them hone in on what is expected of them and allows their peers to give them constructive feedback.
Our Peer Review Process for Trainers:
Choose a Time
Have the reviewing trainer find a time to evaluate their partner based on their own schedule and availability, their desire to learn/evaluate a certain program/session and/or their desire to have a certain program/session be evaluated.
The Evaluation
Trainers don’t have to tell their partner when they will be evaluating – trainers should always be ready!
The Review
Trainers should take 30 minutes after the evaluations to review their thoughts/successes/suggestions with their partner. It doesn’t need to be directly after the evaluation, but that is best (so everything is fresh in your minds).
Record The Review
Ensure that your team knows how they should share and record their findings.
What to Look for During The Peer Review:
Arrives early and prepared for session
Appropriate attire, hygiene and speech
Gives a warm greeting to client
Checks with client on the status of their workouts/fitness routine
Has client sign in for session
Finishes session on time
Teaches exercises using an appropriate style (explain, demonstrate, client practices, quizzing)
Session is dynamic and interactive
Offers regular and appropriate eye contact
Body language demonstrates focus and attention on client / Hands-on spotting
We are proud to be known for having award-winning personal trainers, exceptional customer service and for helping people live their lives to the fullest….and we want to keep it that way. We are constantly checking that our standards are being met and that our clients are achieving results. Conducting yearly on floor peer reviews is just one of the actions we take to ensure that our clients are getting the very best!
If your answer is “no”…. you NEED a standard peer review form. Don’t know where to start? Good news. You can use the standardized peer review form that I have created. Using the corporate manual I created for Northwest Personal Training …. I designed a fitness business system to help you run an organized and successful fitness business. This includes the peer review form and all the forms/systems you need to run your fitness business.
DON’T REINVENT THE WHEEL! Let us give YOU the systems that we know work!
The fee to purchase the Business of Personal Training System can be made up within 1 month of increased PT sales and there are NO recurring franchise or licensing fees. A comparable business system in other industries would require an initial investment of tens of thousands of dollars.
