Here at Northwest Personal Training, we conduct yearly on-floor reviews with our trainers and group instructors. These on-floor reviews help ensure that our clients are progressing like we would like them to and allow us to identify areas where our personal trainers and group instructors can improve.
Conducting On-Floor Reviews of Personal Trainers and Group Instructors
Communicate with your staff. Let them know that you will be scheduling their on-floor reviews. Reviews should not be a surprise. Allow your staff time to prepare for their review.
Schedule time to conduct each on-floor review.
Conduct the review using a standard check list.
Meet individually with staff members to discuss their review.
File on-floor review documents for each staff member.
Schedule time to follow up with any staff members to ensure they are working on improvements discussed during the on-floor review.
What to Include in Your On-Floor Reviews
We Split Our On-Floor Reviews Into 2 Parts
- Soft Skills/Administrative
- Technical/Practical Skills

If your answer is “no”…. you NEED to create one before you get started with On-Floor Reviews. Don’t know where to start? Good news. You can use the On-Floor Review Checklist that I have created. Using the corporate manual I created for Northwest Personal Training …. I designed a fitness business system to help you run an organized and successful fitness business. This includes the On-Floor Review Checklist and all the forms, systems and protocols you need.
DON’T REINVENT THE WHEEL! Let us give YOU the systems that we know work!
The fee to purchase the Business of Personal Training System can be made up within 1 month of increased PT sales and there are NO recurring franchise or licensing fees. A comparable business system in other industries would require an initial investment of tens of thousands of dollars.
