If your fitness business is anything like ours you have A LOT going on this time of year.
This is not only the time of year when you plan tons of fun things for your clients, but it is also a time of schedule changes, analyzing and organizing the business side of things from the entire year and planning for next year. I wanted to give you a list of the things we are working on this time of year.
Take a look at the list to see if there is anything you should be communicating to your clients, your staff or that you need to be doing to wrap up 2013 and move toward a super successful 2014!
Holiday Events, Schedule Changes and Special Promotions:
- Every year we host a holiday party for our staff and clients. We make it a BIG deal and announce the date way in advance so that our clients and staff can mark their calendars. It is where we give away client awards for the year and employee awards for the year. Check out this past blog post on folks get nominated for awards and the types of awards we give out.
- We also create a year end video that includes images from all of the fun things we have done with our clients throughout the year. We show this video on a loop during the entire holiday party. We also post it on our home webpage, on youtube and anywhere else we can think of and it is a GREAT marketing tool! - Holiday Team Event: we will also do some type of holiday team event with just our staff. Maybe go bowling, go out to dinner or go rock climbing. I put it out to the team to let me know what they want to do and if they would their families to attend or have it just for team members. We are working on finalizing that now.
- Holiday Schedule Changes: we have posted our holiday schedule changes and updates throughout the facility. Make sure to post these notices early! Although we may not be open during normal hours on a holiday we may do something like a 2 hour intense group class on New Years day. That way we don’t have to be open the whole day and our clients still have the opportunity to get a great workout in! Check out this past blog post on ideas for Holiday Hours!
- Holiday Challenge: will will also be starting our 6 Week Holiday Challenge on the 21st. It is a super simple challenge that is only $30 per person. Check out the details HERE.
Holiday Gifts/Cards:
- We have done holiday gift cards many different ways. We have sent them both digitally and through snail mail. One thing always stays the same….we include images of our team, wish our clients a happy holiday season, thank them for their business, give them a coupon for a bit off their next package and also a gift card that they can give to a friend or family. Start Developing Your Marketing Plan for 2014:
- In November I start gathering information from the team about how they think 2013 went, what they think we should keep doing, stop doing and think about doing in 2014. Then I remove myself from the outside world and I write our marketing plan for the following year. This marketing plan will be the bible that our entire team will follow. It includes plan promotions, team meetings, event dates and so much more. It is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things I do for our business each year.
