I have noticed that as soon as I tell people that I am a personal trainer, they start telling me about the pain somewhere in their body. Any tips on how to convince a reluctant, and in pain, population of people of the benefits of working with a trainer?

6 Ways to Inspire people who are in pain and reluctant to get started with personal training

1 – You Aren’t Here to Hurt Them

Reassure them that your goal is not to hurt them, but that corrective exercise can actually help eliminate pain. You are not a typical “Go hard at all costs” beat you up type of fitness facility, but rather a facility that focuses on overall health and wellbeing.

2 – Give Them a Complimentary First Session with No Obligation

Let them know their first session is complimentary with no obligation, so it’s a great way for them to check you out and see what you do and how you can help.

3 – Tell Them About Your Current Promotion

Let them know that now is a great time to get started because you have a great promotion going on…ie Fall Jumpstart or Summer Jumpstart or New Years Jumpstart etc.

4 – Supportive Community

Let them know that your fitness facility has a great community of people who inspire and support each other. The key to success is surrounding themselves with that kind of energy.

5 – A Great Place to Get Started

Reassure them that your facility is non-intimidating and a great place to get started without the pressure of trying to keep up in a large gym setting.

6 – Safety is Your Priority

Let them know that the best advantage of a training at your facility is safety, customized programming for THIER body and the accountability most people need to succeed.
