Conducting monthly staff reviews keeps Northwest Personal Training running smoothly and ensures staff remains consistent with our protocols and procedures. April was Indicators of Performance Review month at NWPT. During the month of April, managers conducted these reviews with each of our Personal Trainers.

This review will evaluate administrative skills and adherence to protocols and procedures.
How Are Indicators of Performance Reviews Conducted at NWPT?
A manager is assigned to conduct the reviews and sends out an email to our Personal Trainers letting them know what they need to do to be prepared.
The same manager will send out individual emails with the review date and time for each Personal Trainer.
Each Personal Trainer is asked to fill out the Indicators of Performance sheet and they are reminded that they will be quizzed on our policies and procedures during their individual review meeting.
Personal Trainers need to turn in the Indicators of Performance sheet before their scheduled review date.
The manager and Personal Trainer meet to go over the Indicators of Performance sheet to ensure that the Personal Trainer understands and is following our policies and procedures. The manager will give the Personal Trainer an overall monthly rating, add comments and give the Personal Trainer 3 goals related to our policies and procedures.
Finally, the review document will be placed in the Personal Trainer’s employee file.
Why Conduct Indicators of Performance Reviews?
We claim to have the “Best Personal Trainers in The World” and we are a high end personal training studio. In order to deliver on our promises, our staff need to know and follow our policies and procedures. Taking the time to check in with our staff to ensure everyone is keeping up with our standards is essential to our success. Without this consistent attention to detail….we are just another fitness facility.

It isn’t too late to conduct indicators of performance reviews with your staff in 2025. Add these types of reviews to your yearly marketing plan. Decide which months of the year you will conduct reviews and then assign the project to one of your staff members.

Does your team have standard practices to follow when it comes to staff reviews?
If your answer is “no”…. you NEED to implement a corporate manual that includes standard review procedures and documentation. Sound overwhelming? It doesn’t have to be. Using our Northwest Personal Training corporate manual, I designed a fitness business system to help you run an organized and successful fitness business.
Implement the business system that I designed and you will find that you work SMARTER, are more ORGANIZED and you will start generating HUGE profits like we do here at Northwest Personal Training.
DON’T REINVENT THE WHEEL! Let us give YOU the systems that we know work!
The fee to purchase the Business of Personal Training System can be made up within 1 month of increased PT sales and there are NO recurring franchise or licensing fees. A comparable business system in other industries would require an initial investment of tens of thousands of dollars.
