Productivity Sweet Spot!

Spread the love

Team2012I have blogged about the importance of using productivity goals with trainers. Making sure all of your trainers are in that productivity “sweet spot” can mean success for both the trainer’s bottom line and YOURS! Read my blog post on productivity goals to learn more.

Here is a recent email that our Personal Training Manager sent out to our trainer team….it is a good reminder for all trainers out there and I wanted to share it with you!

“Anyone consistently under 80% productivity….remember that you can’t just hang out and expect that your schedule will just fill up.  Just like anything else in life… you get what you put into it. Here are some things that you can do to increase productivity:

  • Look at your schedule the first day of the week and notice if there are any open time slots. If there are send emails to clients that might be going on vacation or are needing a little kick in the bootie and let them know you have some open spots.
  • Let you current clients know that you have some open time slots in your schedule and ask if they know of anyone that might be interested in training with you. Let them know about our referral incentive program. (Spring into Fitness flier is posted!… give them one.)
  • Call any leads that you need to follow up with and try to get them into your schedule.
  • Take other trainers classes if you have time, it is a great opportunity to get some new ideas for your classes and to get know clients that you don’t see very often.
  • External Marketing. We have a bunch of events coming up this spring and summer which will present opportunites to make connections with people that you normally would not come into contact with. Be willing to jump on these events when that come up.

It takes everyone on the team pulling their own weight to hit our department & company goals. When we are hitting those goals that means we are thriving as a company and that is good for everyone!”

Keeping up with marketing is ESSENTIAL for success as a personal trainer. Make sure you are using your “down” time effectively!

Yours in health, fitness & business,
Sherri McMillan
